Household waste recycling sites

There are 10 household waste recycling sites in the East Riding for the disposal of household waste to recycle the maximum amount of material.

A wide range of household waste can be disposed of at the sites for recycling. Each of the 10 sites consistently achieves monthly recycling rates of between 60-80 per cent, peaking around 85 per cent in summer. In 2008/09 nearly 70,000 tonnes of waste was disposed of by East Riding residents at the sites, 50,000 tonnes of this was recycled.

The staff at the sites are there to assist, so if you are unsure of anything or require assistance just ask.

A van and large trailer ban is in operation at all the sites. It was introduced in August 2001 to prevent people disposing of commercial waste at the sites. We do permit one-off trips to the sites but residents are required to fill in a waste declaration form upon arrival. For those intending to make more than one visit then an application must be made for permits which are free of charge. For information on obtaining a permit contact the permit hotline on (01482) 395581.

There is a weight limit of 3.5 tonnes for permit holders, on the grounds of Health and Safety.
