Target 45+ is the joint waste strategy of Hull City Council and East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The objective is to encourage every household within both authorities to divert waste from landfill by recycling and composting at least 45 per cent. 

Both councils joined forces in order to attain better value for money. In addition, the shared use of waste facilities allows for household waste to be dealt with in closer proximity to where it is produced, making environmental sense.
